The Hunt

We went on a journey of a lifetime, searching for a place of once in a lifetime.
In total we visited about 8 churches in 4 hours.
And finally, we went to St Paul's Church at Kovan where we met Rev Mok who was extremely welcoming and shared with us not only about his church but his life as well. He spent 11 years in Cambodia as a missionary and served God wholeheartedly all the way.

Such an inspiration and encouragement.

On another note, we do hope to get his church as a venue because we really like it.

Pray with us. =)

From afar

I just received an email from my good friend, Kjell. He and his family are coming all the way from Norway to attend my wedding!!!

His beautiful daughter, Mira, is going to be my flower girl.

Introducing Kjell and his family (+ 1 baby coming to see the world in April)

My Wedding Gowns

I have found my wedding gowns!!!!!

Although my package allows me to choose only 1 wedding gown and 1 evening gown, i fell in love with the wedding gowns and paid $300 more to take 2 wedding gowns!! muahaha~~~

19 Jan was my gown fitting day. I met my mom and my sister. We had a quick lunch at Tanjong Pagar Xchange before heading down to the Studio.

I think i tried all in all more than 30 gowns. Some of them looked strange, some were okay, and 3 were shortlisted. Out of the 3, i chose 2. Here is the picture of the rejected one. (We smuggled my sister phone into the fitting area. Actually, it looks nicer than the picture.. haha blame it on the bad lighting)

Selected Gowns
Gown 1: Church Wedding Gown - Vera Wang Design
Gown 2: Evening Gown - Saw something similar on a magazine and the gown i chose won an award in 2006

No pictures uploaded cos it is going to be a surprise!

There was another gown that i found and love. But it was rather old so they are going to clear it and let me use for my outdoor shoot!!! whoo~~ which is on May 15.

and yet i will rejoice!

Today is a day for mourning. The demise of my dream church. =( sobs sobs. (please see the reply below from St Georges church).

Through this all, we are so thankful for all the support all of you have given us through your prayers and encouragement. Although we did not get St Georges, i still give thanks because of the many good friends he has placed in our lives and I know that God has the best for us in mind. Right now, we have Christ Methodist Church. But if any of you, have any good recommendations, please let us know too!

There is still 9 months before the wedding, maybe we will find something along the way. Something better? If not Christ Methodist is great too! Its my sister's and shaun's church. It has a long aisle with pews and stained glass.

Knocking till the door opens

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the doors will be opened.

Persistent widow seeking justice.
She gets her way eventually.
Lesson to Learn: To keep praying and not give up.

Father, I ask for St Georges. I have already been rejected but i still want to trust in you. That through persistence and not giving up in prayers, that the doors to St Georges will be opened! Along with all other good things, i want to believe that you will give me all good things.

Fullerton Dinner Decorations

Jaya (Fullerton Sales Manager) gave me pictures of the different flower decorations. These are my preferred ones. But i think its not nice enough. Going to request for customization to be done!
Better go do more research...

Gown Fitting 1

Tmr i will be going down to French Bridal to meet Paulson. Going to show him a file of my preferred designs. He will then get me to try some of the gowns before customizing my own gown.

Its exciting!

My mommy and my sister is going with me.

I shall give my wedding gown a name.... hmmm.. any suggestions?

Wedding at Fullerton

Okay, so October 9th is the big day. And the wedding dinner is at Fullerton. How we got there was pretty amazing.

When we started calling all the hotels, I think all of us went into a panic attack. So many hotels were already fully booked. Plus, having a list of requirements brought our eligible list of hotels to 24 (where some are already fully booked for every sat for 2010). (If anyone thinking of going to business, the wedding business seems like a good idea)

Requirements for hotel:
1. Must have certain class and standard cos alot of Uncle's business associates will be coming
2. Need a place that can hold 45-50 tables
When Keith and i talked about weddings previously, we thought we could keep it to 25. The real numbers doubled!
3. Must serve good food
4. Must looks nice

When i first stepped into Fullerton, after visting a few others (no mention of names), i knew that was the place i wanted to get married in. It has more than met all the requirements, and yes more than met ($$$). haha.. It is freaking expensive!!!

But after some discussions and prayers, Keith's parents decided that Fullerton is the place. They also wanted to testify to how God has blessed their family financially.

So all of you who are coming, you are looking forward to
- a shell shaped ballroom
- no walls to block your view
- great food
- colonial, english looking venue
- and me, walking down the stairs (Must start practising)
One consolation is that the steps are pretty wide.

Oh yes!
The suite is amazing. It is 2 storey! Cant wait to make use of all the facilities in the hotel too!

Yay!!! ~

Ruqi's P.O.V

Well.. maybe i am suppose to start with how it all began, the 'once upon a time' part of it. But now that i am in the midst of all the heat on wedding preparations. I will just fast forward to the start of preparing for my wedding.

I told Mei Mei to start this blog. Well one of the objectives of my wedding is actually to share and testify to the faithfulness and providence of God. What better way to testify as sharing my stories and learnings through this blog.

My friends all say that we are super effective. After i said 'Yes' to Keith on the 30 December, we have since then viewed many hotels and signed the package; viewed many churches, and now deciding between 2, and even got the bridal package. (Oh, not forgeting that we have also already viewed 2 HDB flats).

Its amazing how God has been providing. Really Amazing.
